We had a wonderful time staying in mid September in a deluxe cabin! All the amenities we needed and a short drive to everything we wanted to do in the UP. Our only complaint was that the arcade and jumping pillow closed down by 6pm with plenty of warmth and daylight left, and the mini golf course could use some love.
Great location. Super friendly staff. Laundry clean. W&D 2$ a load/awesome. Showers and restrooms clean. Many things for kids to do if you travel with children. I would have given 5 stars but the pull through sites are a bit too narrow. It feels like your neighbors are too close.
We were at the back of the campground. Original searches showed nothing up front, yet there were available sites the whole time we were there with full hook-ups? Store was well stocked. Showers were clean and hot. Lots for the kids to do. Free Shuttle buses for the Mackinaw Island Boats. Nice Staff. While they will deliver wood - check it! Ours wasn't (and two others near us) didn't have seasoned wood and it was wet - waste of money. Hard to find parks & spots available in the area so...
For the past 3 years I have come to this KOA to stay in one of their cabins. The cabins are always clean, the staff are always friendly and helpful, the location is really easy to once you cross the bridge. I have no complaints, my time spent here always meets my expectations, there is nothing that I would improve.
I have a lot to say about the amazing customer service this KOA provides. We stayed a week on site 95. From the first phone call we knew we made a good decision. Lynette answered the phone and managed to find a place for our 38 foot travel trailer and family of 6 with two trucks a month before our planned trip. IMPRESSIVE! Check in was a breeze and in less than 4 mins we were on the way to our roomy, grassy site. We pulled onto our gravel drive and got unhooked level. FANTASTIC! Over the course of the next week we enjoyed every moment of our adventure, from free bikes to the bounce pad, 6 loads of laundry in the super clean 24 hour laundry facility, clean showers and bathrooms and friendly staff on golf carts randomly emptying tanks, picking up trash and preparing for the next guest. PROFESSIONAL! Tracy even came to let me know we were having a melt down at 1p at the park and asked if I needed a ride because reinforcements were needed. The 4 year old needed a nap. ABOVE AND BEYOND! Just do it here. You won't regret. LOVED EVERY MOMENT! THANK YOU KOA STAFF! PS the stars out number the mosquitos!
We’re not normally KOA types and prefer campgrounds without all the fuss and extras. But it was our only available option so we stayed. And… we didn’t hate it. For the price of KOAs, we expected much more from the bathrooms/showers. They were clean enough to use but still a bit icky. The water pressure was awesome, though. Definite brownie points there. Also brownie points in the site size department. They were nice and large (though no trees in between you and the next guy).
The free shuttle to the Mac Island ferries was an awesome perk. That was super helpful and they even dropped us back off right at our campsite. Loved that.
We used the laundry here and that was good, too. $2 per machine and they actually cleaned our clothes (hey, some don’t).
Some good amenities for the kids. Not a koa Holiday, but the jumping pillow and golf was a hit.
Clean, and quiet hours respected.
Staff was kind enough to add a bag of ice to our cooler, along with a bundle of wood, via text before we got back from the island.
Maybe avoid site 45 if given the option. It's pretty uneven we couldn't really find a level spot for the picnic table. And it's right up against a couple cabins so you feel like you need to be quiet. But we didn't pay to choose our spot, so that's on us.
Had a great time with kids and some friends.
The KOA itself and the Kabin we were in were both in great locations. The people were so friendly!! The beds were comfy compared to some we have slept on. The bathrooms were always clean and stocked and the showers were great. Loved the games that were included in the stay! Super fun!!
